#Socktober

Socktober October 5th - 31st

Have you heard of Socktober? It’s a fantastic annual initiative during the month of October with the goal of helping less fortunate people.  You can participate here by donating a brand new pair of socks so everyone can be sure to keep their toes warm through the cold winter months. Once collected, we will be donating the socks to our local homeless shelter.  The leadership students and the students of 7DEF will be helping us out as well. Students will come by your homeroom daily to pick up any donations and will then place pairs in the big "Socktober” box in the office.  Please help us help others from October 5th to October 31st . Let’s work to reach our goal of 500 donated pairs!

P.S.There’s also House Points up for grabs!

Here's another great video to inspire us even more!!! You remember Grover - don't you!

Let's take a look of some people who have used Siloam Mission in the past. Their stories may surprise you.

  1. Hi Mrs. Steinhoff, I love the fact that you run a blog, you have many great ideas on here but you don't have many Page Views. Which sucks, because many ideas are in here, so it would be a waste if we didn't get more people on here. So, I have an idea. so as you know, Jordan, Kristina and I have been helping you out, so I was thinking that we can go out, buy white socks and tie dye them. If you trust the class then we can do it with them. That's all for now!

  2. What can we do to help the homeless?
Is giving socks to the less fortunate enough?
Although the socks may What not change a homeless person’s life, just a small act of kindness can make a homeless person’s day, give them hope and make them feel like a real life person again.
Helping someone and taking time out of your day to give someone money, donate clothes or food can really help and you feel like an amazing person afterwards. The socks, food, clothes may be small but make an BIG impact on lives of people on the streets. So please donate food, clothes, money or even a pair of socks to make winter a little cozier for them. -Mackenzie baker
